AK and KA Home
We had brunch at The Orchard, a lovely restaurant set in (naturally) an orchard...
...
...
Dad's 70th birthday at swanky duck restaurant...
...
...
...
Another over-the-top cake from our neighbor...
...
We stayed at an architecturally inspired/absurd
hotel
next to the Wall...
...
One of the hotel's many building - we stayed in this one (has 4 rooms and a common area).
Steep...
Unrestored section of wall right behind the hotel grounds. It's about a 10 minute vertical walk from hotel to here...
...
After parents returned to ATL, we still managed to amuse ourselves.
G sports a proper kilt for the Scottish dance. Note the healthy array of drums at the ready.
...
Kids get ready for concert in the park.
Fun Ozomatli concert in the park.
I don't know about the locals, but for us, Shaq serves an important function (aside from beckoning-hoops-siren) as our "big chicken".
Across the park from the Shaq is the drive-in. Haven't been there yet.
AK and I walked around in-town lakes in Beijing, stopping at the drum tower and bell tower.
Tower has a good view, and is positioned so residents can hear the city "clock".
